
Fatal Motorcycle Crash Under Investigation in Texarkana
The Texarkana Texas Police Department (TTPD) is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred last Friday evening, April 10, 2026, on West Seventh Street in Texarkana, TX.
According to officials, 53-year-old Russell Daily of Texarkana, Arkansas, was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when he was unable to navigate a curve just past the CPKC Railroad underpass. Investigators say the motorcycle left the roadway and struck a metal bench at a T-Line bus stop near Elm Street.
The Resulting Crash Was Fatal
Mr Daily was transported to CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Early Findings
The preliminary cause of the accident, according to TTPD traffic investigators, indicates that excessive speed was a primary factor in the crash. Authorities also reported the motorcycle was equipped with a vehicle tire, which may have contributed to the incident. Investigators noted that Daily was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
Officials extended their condolences to the victim’s family and are reminding riders to obey speed limits, ensure their motorcycles are properly equipped, and wear protective gear while on the road.
