Get ready, Texarkana! Our National Night Out is set for Tuesday, October 7, and it's time to celebrate our neighborhoods!

National Night Out is an annual community event that helps build and strengthen relationships with neighbors and with local law enforcement, fire departments and city officials. Thousands of neighborhoods celebrate this all across the country, most celebrate around the beginning of August, but in Texarkana, we are smart and celebrate when it gets a little cooler!

Why is Texarkana's 'National Night Out' Important?

National Night Out brings people together for a positive reason: to get to know each other. It has been proven that when you know your neighbors, you watch out for them. Everyone knows who is supposed to be in their neighborhood and can spot suspicious behavior better. When neighbors look out for one another, it helps reduce crime in the neighborhood.

You also have the opportunity to meet local law enforcement that patrol your area, plus firefighters and city officials, all in a casual atmosphere.
