Texarkana Police Need Your Help With 36 Year Old Case of Missing Woman
Texarkana Police are asking the public for any information they might have on the disappearance of a young woman in Texarkana 36 years ago.
According to the Texarkana Texas Police Department,
Margaret Jane Chauncy left her shift at St. Michael Hospital when it was located downtown back on October 20, 1987. She was seen leaving in her car at around 11:15 PM that night.
We believe that she was headed to her apartment, but she apparently never made it there. After she missed two subsequent shifts at the hospital, her coworkers reported her missing. The red 1983 Pontiac Fiero that she was driving that night (similar to the one pictured) has never been found. Neither has the watch that she always wore that had the name of a family member "Carolyn Sewell" engraved on the back.
Police searched for her and followed all the leads they could get for weeks. Weeks then turned into months. Unfortunately, they have never been able to locate her or her vehicle. She was 24 years old when she went missing and would be 60 years old now.
Recently, a crew came to town that is making dives into bodies of water around the Texarkana area in the hopes of finding her vehicle. You can follow Exploring with the Nug on Facebook.
The Texarkana Police are asking if you have any information, even if it seems small and insignificant. Sometimes those 'small pieces' of the puzzle are the ones that actually solve a case. Please call the TTPD at 903-798-3116 for any information you might have about Margaret.
