
Texarkana Police Investigate Fatal Shooting; Suspect Charged with Murder
Texarkana Arkansas Police worked hard and fast last night as a call about a fatal shooting took place and now one person has been arrested.
Texarkana Police Arrest Suspect in Fatal Shooting
Shortly after 11 PM last night (Sunday, August 24) the Texarkana Arkansas Police were called to the Ridge Apartments on North Oats Street after several 911 calls reported a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found 19-year-old Gary Nichols with a gunshot wound outside the apartment complex. Neighbors and bystanders were already trying to help, and then the officers joined in to continue lifesaving efforts until LifeNet EMS arrived. Sadly, Nichols did not survive.
One Person Dead, Suspect in Custody After Overnight Police Investigation
Detectives and crime scene investigators worked through the night, and through their investigation, they were able to identify 21-year-old Xavian Banks as the suspected shooter. Banks was taken into custody the same night and booked into the Miller County Jail on a charge of Second-Degree Murder.
