
Double Win for Texarkana: City Now Both Texas ‘Film’ and ‘Tourism’ Friendly
The City of Texarkana has been officially designated a Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community by Travel Texas, recognizing the city’s commitment to growing tourism as an economic driver.
Texarkana, Texas Tourism Recognition from State Leaders
Governor Greg Abbott congratulated the city on completing the multi-step certification process, noting that tourism plays a vital role in Texas’ economy by supporting jobs and generating billions in economic impact statewide.

Texarkana now holds both Tourism Friendly Texas and Film Friendly Texas certifications, as the city continues to focus on welcoming visitors and supporting local growth.
Texarkana Community Pride and Economic Impact
According to a press release, Representative Gary VanDeaver said,
Texarkana has always been a place where folks feel welcome, and this certification just puts a spotlight on what our community does best.
Mayor Bob Bruggeman said,
We look forward to continuing our efforts to showcase Texarkana’s welcoming spirit and the many opportunities that make it a great place to live, work, and visit.
Mayor Pro Tem Jean Matlock stated this recognition highlights all the teamwork and dedication in making Texarkana a place where people will want to visit again and again.
