
Texarkana, Texas Kicks Off a Summer Full of Fun and Free Events
The City of Texarkana, Texas is packed with free, family-friendly activities all summer long, from splash pad fun to movies, markets, and more!
Time To Get Wet and Sticky!
The Rotary Splash Pad opens for the season on Monday, June 2 and stays open daily from 9 AM to 7 PM through early September. On Wednesdays in July (July 10, 17, 24, and 31), the Texarkana Texas Fire Department will host “Popsicles in the Park” at 2 PM. Kids can meet firefighters, snap photos with a fire truck, and enjoy a cold treat.
A special celebration is planned for Thursday, June 12 at the Splash Pad from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. as Dairy Queen marks the 40th Anniversary of the Blizzard® with a “Surprise & Delight” event featuring sweet treats, swag, gift cards, and a visit from Mr. Blizzard.
Thursday Night Free Movies:
Movies in the Park are back at Spring Lake Park across from the airplane. Bring blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy these free Thursday night movies at dusk:
- Captain America: Brave New World - May 29 (Tonight!)
- Paddington in Peru - June 5
- The Goonies - June 12
Concessions will be available.
Texarkana Farmers Market:
The Texarkana Farmers Market is open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon through August 2 at 500 N. Stateline Ave. Shoppers can find local produce, meats, baked goods, flowers, handmade items, and more. Each Saturday features a special theme like “Green Thumb Gathering” or “Biggest Tomato Contest.” The season wraps up with the popular Best Salsa in the Ark-La-Tex contest on August 2.
For Baseball Fans:
Baseball fans can catch the Texarkana Rhinos this summer with themed home games like “Stars & Strikes” and “Sweethearts & Sluggers.” Find their schedule and tickets at gorhinosgo.net.
Get and Stay Fit:
The Southwest Center is offering free fitness classes like yoga, BARRE, and Pound cardio. Or check out the Texarkana Pickleball Club’s open play and beginner-friendly events starting with a kickoff this Saturday, May 31 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
