The Texarkana Area Veterans Council is hosting a great event, and it's delicious too.  Get your spoon ready,  come hungry for the 27th Annual Veterans’ Benefit Chili Cook-Off. Plus the 2nd Annual Gumbo Cook-Off.

The cook-offs are set for Friday, February 13, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the American Legion Post, located at 525 East Broad Street in Texarkana, Arkansas.

A Taste Tour For a Wonderful Cause in Texarkana

This lunchtime event promises a super tasty event with a lineup of chili recipes ranging from mild and savory to wild, tangy, and downright outlandish. Alongside the chili, you will be able to sample a variety of homemade gumbos, showcasing the Cajun classic prepared by local cooks.

Guests are encouraged to taste them all and then they can cast their vote for their favorites, for a little friendly competition to the mix.

Supporting Local Veterans in the Texarkana Area

Admission is $8, which will give you unlimited tastings of both chili and gumbo. Plus a chance to win door prizes. Every dollar raised will go to the Texarkana Area Veterans Council.

The proceeds from this event will help assist local veterans and support the council’s ongoing efforts to purchase a van for transporting veterans to Overton Brooks VA Medical Center when needed.
