The Charlie Daniels Band Gets Tapped For Monday Night Football Opener

Monday Night Football on ESPN will sport a new opener to the 2012 football season with the legendary Charlie Daniels Band.Charlie replaces Hank Williams Jr. who was let go earlier this year from the sports network over remarks he made about President Obama on live television. A special revised version of the 1979 smash hit 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia' will be the opening song for the game featuring the Atlanta Falcons vs the Denver Broncos game on Sept. 17.

According to the producer of MNF each week different celebrities, musicians, and athletes will be featured on a new opening song that represents the team playing  that week.
