Daylight Saving Time comes to an end this weekend. Time to "fall" back to Standard Time.

The change back to Standard Time occurs at 2AM local time on Sunday morning. So when you go to bed Saturday night remember to "fall" back or move your clocks back one hour. You will get back that one hour of sleep you lost back in the spring when we entered Daylight Saving Time. If you fail to change the clock you will show up an hour early for church or wherever you are headed to on Sunday.

The time change will make it lighter by an hour in the morning, which means for the most part you can stop waking your kids up in the dark to go to school. It will also mean kids who ride the bus will not have to wait for the bus in the dark because it will be light by then.

On the other side of the coin, it will get darker an hour earlier in the evening, which is a bummer for some people who work until 5PM or later.

Standard Time will continue until the second Sunday in March, specifically March 12, when once again we will spring forward into another Daylight Saving Time.

By the way, most of the country has recognized Daylight Saving Time since the Uniformed Time Act was passed by Congress and signed into law by then President Lyndon Johnson in 1966.

There are movements across various states, including Texas, to opt out of Daylight Saving Time and stay on Standard Time.
