No doubt the literary world is as sad as I am. Tom Clancy, one of my favorite thriller authors, died Oct. 1 in Baltimore, Md.

I remember walking over to a cart in which Clancy’s novel, “The Hunt for Red October,” was among the books that I needed to put in alphabetical order for a shelving test to work in the public library. It was then that I decided to give him try. After reading the first page, Clancy reels you into the storyline with riveting plots and interesting characters.

I encourage you to go to the Texarkana Public Library to see their collection or ask the librarians to recommend another thriller author to you.
