Tornado Rips Through a Portion of Hot Springs, Arkansas
Residents in Hot Springs, Arkansas woke up this morning to significant tornado damage that ravaged a portion of Lake Hamilton after a line of severe storms rolled through Central Arkansas overnight.
EF2 Tornado
Multiple news sources including KARK-Fox 16 have reported this morning that numerous trees and debris downed power lines causing power outages in Garland County and Pulaski County in Little Rock.
As of 6 a.m. this morning, 16,979 power outages were reported and crews are working hard to clear debris and damage from the storms to restore power as quickly as possible.
Some of the roads in Hot Springs are impassible because of fallen trees in the roadways and must be cleared and several homes in the tornado's path were damaged. Lakeland Road sustained the heaviest damage according to the latest updates.
Hot Springs Fired Department search and rescue crews were sent out last night to assess the damage and reported only minor injuries but at this time no deaths have been reported, according to THV 11.
The HSFD will help in cleaning up the area as more storms are predicted today.
