Two Bodies At Mercer Bayou Boat Ramp Identified by Miller County Sheriffs Office
Sunday, a little past noon, two bodies were discovered at the boat ramp on Mercer Bayou off CR 151 in Miller County. Both, apparently killed by a single gunshot. Each has now been identified by the Miller County Sheriff's Office as husband and wife William Hines, 49, and Lisa Hines, 52, both of Miller County.
In a report from the Miller County Sheriff's Office, Sunday, January 9, 2022 at approximately 12:10 PM the Miller County Sheriff’s Office was called by a Miller County resident who happened upon the bodies laying near a truck in the boat ramp area of Mercer Bayou off of Miller County Road 151.
Upon responding to the scene Deputies discovered a white male and white female, both deceased near a truck that was parked at the ramp. The scene was then secured and the Miller County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division was notified.

Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears that both persons died as a result of single gunshot wounds. The victims were in close proximity to one another. A suspected weapon was recovered at the scene. There was no indication that other parties were involved in the incident. Both victims were sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner’s Office in Little Rock for an autopsy and subsequent examination of evidence collected.
