Free Cybersecurity Summer Camp for Students at UAHT

Students across Southwest Arkansas will have a unique opportunity to explore the world of cybersecurity this summer at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana.

UAHT and Southwest Arkansas Education Cooperative are teaming up to host a Cybersecurity Exploration Camp taking place from Monday, June 1, to Friday, June 5, on the Texarkana campus. The camp runs daily from 8:30 AM to 1 PM and is completely free. It's open to 30 students entering grades 7–11.

Hands-On Learning in the Growing Field of Cybersecurity at UAHT

This interactive camp introduces students to cybersecurity through hands-on activities and real-world scenarios. From digital puzzles to topics like cryptography, digital forensics, and online safety, students will learn how to think critically while building valuable tech skills.

Each day includes a mix of classroom instruction, cloud-based labs, and team challenges designed to keep things fun and engaging.

From Password Cracking to Cyber Challenges at Cybersecurity Camp at UAHT

Camp activities will include password-cracking exercises (with a strong focus on ethics), ransomware simulations, scavenger hunts, and even a Jeopardy-style cybersecurity competition to wrap up the week.

Organizers are also encouraging girls to apply, highlighting the growing need for women in cybersecurity careers.

Exploring Future Career Paths at University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana

Students will also get a closer look at college and career opportunities, including UAHT’s cybersecurity programs, dual-credit options, and industry certifications like CompTIA Security+.
