North Heights Junior High Will Celebrate The Uniqueness Of The Human Race

What is Uniquely You Day?Every student at North Heights Junior High will find out on Friday, Nov. 1 during their lunch period.

For those of us who do not attend the school, Uniquely You Day is designed to encourage students to see beyond cultural and social boundaries within society.

Many of us remember what it's like to walk into the lunch room and not know a soul. You feel isolated and alone. However, the Texarkana Arkansas School District wants everyone to feel that they belong.

So during lunch using creative seating charts and questions, the students will get to know others they normally don't sit with during this time.

To reinforce the thought of what makes each person unique, the students will wear shirts they designed in preparation for this event and watching three student produced videos which celebrate the uniqueness of each individual. I can't wait to hear of the many new friendships forged by this endeavor.
