Italian restaurants are huge in our country. We all have our neighborhood favorite. Italian restaurants come in all different sizes and price ranges, but there is an Italian Restaurant in Arkansas that made a very special list and it's one of the top 25 in the country.
24/7 Tempo recently came up with The 25 Best Old-School Italian Restaurants in America.
They took a look at Italian restaurants all across the country. Some of these restaurants were owned by Italian immigrants and over the years the newer generations started to incorporate their American influences with their Italian heritage making them unique as they have more of an Italian-American menu.
The 25 restaurants making the list are from all over the country. From California to Arkansas to Connecticut. From Detroit, Chicago, Denver and St. Louis.
The Arkansas Restaurant Making This List of Best Old-School Italian Restaurants is...
Venesian Inn
Located in Tontitown, Arkansas. This restaurant opened its doors in 1898 by Italian immigrants. Here's what 24/7 Tempo had to say about Venesian Inn,
Tontitown is an Ozark community founded by Italian immigrants in 1898, and the area retains a substantial Italian-American population today. One Italian, Germano Gasparotto, opened the Venesian Inn in a town next door to Tontitown in 1947, later selling it to the Granata family, which is still in charge. The iconic Tontitown specialty, combining Italian and Southern influences, is spaghetti with fried chicken, and the version here is classic. Also on the menu: three-cheese lasagna, chicken ravioli, fried shrimp, a few sandwiches, and more.
Spaghetti with fried chicken, what a wonderful idea. And it looks tasty too!
