Wadley Breast Health Center Earns ACR Accreditation
A big congratulations to Wadley Regional Medical Center's Breast Health Center as it has earned a new three-year accreditation in mammography from the American College of Radiology (ACR). This recognition follows a thorough review by the ACR, which ensures that the center meets high standards for image quality and patient safety.
Dr. Doug Trippe, medical director for the Wadley Breast
Health Center said in a press release,
For years, the Wadley Breast Center has been a leader in breast imaging and diagnosis and has proudly brought many firsts to the Texarkana area such as breast MRI, outpatient breast biopsies and sentinel node mapping. We have a skilled team of registered technologists who are specially trained to ensure quality images that are used to diagnose breast cancer.
Mammography, which uses low-dose X-rays to examine breasts, is crucial in detecting breast cancer early. Annual screening mammograms can help find even the smallest cancers when they are easiest to treat.
The ACR's gold seal of accreditation is given only to facilities that meet strict guidelines. These guidelines cover everything from image quality and staff qualifications to equipment and safety procedures. The evaluation is conducted by board-certified doctors and medical physicists specializing in this field. Their findings help facilities like Wadley Regional Medical Center continuously improve their practices.
