It’s a Wiener Take All! The Waggin’ Weiner Run in Texarkana

I had to chuckle when I heard the Waggin' Weiner Run was coming to Texarkana. Let's be clear, it's dachshunds competing in the Weenie Dog Races at Hopkins Icehouse on Saturday, April 19,  at noon.

Who Let The Dogs Out?

This is geared toward weenie dogs but the friendly competition is open to all other breeds too so bring your furry friends for a good time and get ready to wave them across the finish line while they are wagging their tails. There will be two races one for the Weenie dogs and one for the other dogs the Weiner-Be Race.

This fun event will benefit the Texarkana Animal League and LNK TXK helping support animals in our community. You can also take home a pet because there will be several pets up for adoption at the event from the Texarkana Animal League.

• Weenie and Wiener-Be Races
• Pet Costume Contest - Free entry for dogs wearing a costume
• Pet Vendors
• Hot Dog Eating Contest (Limited to 15 contestants)
• Live Music
• Face Painting

Check-in Time

• Noon - 12:45 PM
• Weenie Dog Races - 1 PM
• Hot Dog Eating Contest - 2 PM
• Weiner-Be Dog Races - (All Breeds Under 35 pounds) 3 PM
• Finalist Race - 4 PM

The entry fee is $20 per dog for LNKTXK members and $25 per dog for Non-members.

Prizes Awarded

1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place in each category receives a prize and every entrant will receive a race day goodie bag.
