This popular annual community event brings together local churches, civic leaders, community organizations, and volunteers with one goal in mind ... helping families get ready for a successful school year.

Students can receive free backpacks and school supplies while supplies last, and kids can also take advantage of free haircuts before heading back to class.

A Day of Fun for the Whole Family in New Boston

In addition to school supplies and essentials, there will be plenty of fun activities for everyone. Enjoy free food provided by the New Boston Volunteer Fire Department, bounce houses, face painting, balloon artists, and a variety of kid-focused booths.

The event will also feature the LifeShare Blood Mobile, giving people the opportunity to give back and donate blood while they're there.

While the event places a special emphasis on serving families in West Bowie County, Avery, Texas, and Foreman, Arkansas, organizers say everyone is welcome to attend.
