Cody Cooke and the Bayou Outlaws were in town Friday night for a concert at Shooters in Texarkana. The boys stopped by the station for an in-studio visit before their show.Raised on the Texas/Louisiana state line, Cody Cooke is country music. He lives, eats, and sIeeps country music. The words to his songs are based on his life experiences. Born in Mansfield, La., Cody grew up cruising the back roads, fishing the best creeks, and sipping the finest shine that the South has to offer. Cody's music offers hints of his favorite influences from Hank 1, 2, and 3, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, David Allan Coe, Travis Tritt, and Tony Joe White as well as newer artists such as Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser, and Brantley Gilbert. His sound is truly classic outlaw country with a rockin' sound - turned up to eleven.

He's only been writing music for the past few years but in the first year of hitting the stage, he has played with Colt Ford, David Allan Coe, Shooter Jennings, Brantley Gilbert, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Pat Green, Justin Moore, Easton Corbin, Chris Knight, Emerson Drive, Kyle Turley, Josh Thompson, Randy Houser, and Travis Tritt. The future is looking bright for Cody Cooke and his Bayou Outlaws.
