The month of July wraps up this weekend with some new movies that will definitely thrill you and leave you wanting more.

Technology has come along way since the days of the cartoon Smurfs. I have to admit I wasn't always a Smurf fan but this new smurfisized 3D version to the big screen may convert me just yet. This live-action comedy features the evil wizard Gargamel who chases the Smurfs out of their village, forces them through a portal, out of their world and in the middle of our world, Central Park in NYC.

Brace yourself for a fun adventure that will surely turn you blue with laughter. My wife has already told me if I don't take her to see this movie she will turn my toilet water blue! And I HATE blue toilet water.

THE SMURFS (PG)

Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Hank Azaria, Katy Perry (voice), Alan Cumming (voice), George Lopez (voice), Paul Reubens (voice), Anton Yelchin (voice)

Next up on my list of must sees this weekend, is a movie at first, I had no interest in seeing (Cowboys and Aliens) but the more I read and heard interviews with the actors, the more I have become interested in seeing this John Wayne/Clint Eastwood meets Close Encounters movie.

The story takes place in 1875 in the New Mexico territory. A stranger(Daniel Craig) with no memory of his past shows up in the desert town of Absolution. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don't take kindly to strangers. Nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the tough fisted Colonel Dolarhyde(Harrison Ford). But Absolution is about to experience fear it can't comprehend when their attacked by beings from another world. And now the stranger they snubbed is the only salvation they have to save their town and themselves.

The movie stars 007's Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde, and Sam Rockwell.

One other movie this weekend is CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE. (PG-13) a romance comedy/drama

Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone, Marisa Tomei, Kevin Bacon

Don't want my toilet water turned blue so SMURFS is my selection this weekend but I will make room to see COWBOYS & ALIENS too!
