Have you ever thought about renting a houseboat? What about a luxury houseboat? I'm talking about a houseboat that is nicer than most people's houses, yeah, that kind of houseboat.

There is a place around Royal Arkansas, west of Hot Springs on Lake Ouachita that rents luxury houseboats.

These are big! Two of them are 17ft x 77ft and the other is 17ft x 80ft. Each of their houseboats sleeps up to 16 people.

Each comes with 7 bedrooms, that's six queen staterooms and one stateroom with twin bunks.

Flat-screen TVs in all the rooms plus living area, beautiful fully equipped galley, hot tub and wet bars inside and on the top deck too. Oh and a water slide too!

Below is a great video tour of one of the houseboats but it's funny too. I'm sure you will notice his great Cajun accent.

Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
