Donations can be dropped off at the Texas A&M University-Texarkana campus. There’s a U-Haul trailer in the south parking lot, close to the Eagle Landing student housing area, where you can leave your items. The university will then take the goods to Texarkana Aluminum, which will load them onto a trailer for delivery. Donations are being accepted until Thursday, October 17.

Dr. James Worthen, the Dean of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education at A&M-Texarkana, is leading the donation campaign. Dr. Worthen and his family lost everything in Hurricane Ida when they lived in Louisiana back in 2021. He stated in a press release,

I understand what the people are going through, and the kinds of things they need now and will need as the recovery continues. I wanted to do something to help them, and Texarkana Aluminum is gracious enough to help us make that happen.
