American Idol Contestant And Local Artist Rachel Hale to Open for Joe Diffie at Hope Watermelon Festival
Rachel Hale, of Prescott, AR, will open for Joe Diffie at the 41st Annual Hope Watermelon Festival this Saturday, August 12 at 6PM. Hale auditioned for Season 12 of American Idol and became a featured contestant and top 20 female competing on the show.
According to a press release, Billboard ranked her performance of Grace Potter’s “Nothing But the Water” as one of the Top Performances of the entire season. And the judges named her the “happiest contestant,” because of her unshakable smile. In November of 2013, Rachel released her version of “Nothing But the Water” to iTunes. She is currently writing and recording in Nashville, TN.
Rachel has opened for Tracy Byrd, Joe Nichols, and Chris Cagle; she was a featured performer alongside Brett Michaels, Justin Moore, Julie Roberts, and Frank Foster. She has shared the stage with legends such as Peter Frampton, Ricki Skaggs, Larry Stewart (lead singer of Restless Heart), Rachael Lampa, Mac Powell of Third Day, Jamie Grace, Ginny Owens, Drew Ramsey, Gordon Kennedy, and Matt Wertz.
She presented at the 2014 Inspirational Country Music (ICM) Awards for Male Vocalist of the Year. Karen Kingsbury, New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author, tapped Rachel to act in her book trailer “15 Minutes,” which was shown nationwide. She was even cast as a background singer on ABC’s Nashville.
