Arkansas Chinese Lantern Festival in Little Rock Dec. 8 – Jan. 14
Something spectacular is about to take place in Little Rock, Ark., beginning this Friday, Dec. 8, and running through Jan. 14, 2018. It's the very colorful Arkansas Chinese Lantern Festival.
This festival will take place at the Arkansas State Fairgrounds where more than 30 sets of illuminated larger than life lanterns and sculptures will be on display, according to their Facebook page. Experience live culture performances such as folk dancing, acrobats and traditional Chinese handcraft demonstrations during this 6 week long celebration. See Chinese artisans from Zigong, Sichuan, China's cultural capital for the ancient art of lantern-making. You can also enjoy some great Chinese food or fair food while you view all the lights and displays.
You'll be amazed at the over 30 lantern displays, from a 200 ft. long dragon, to a 3 stories high palace lantern pagoda. All lanterns are all hand made and crafted using metal, fabric and lots of LED lights.
