Arkansas’ Historic Little Golden Gate Bridge Closed, But Not for Long
A couple of years ago, I wrote a story about a hidden gem in Arkansas known as the Little Golden Gate Bridge. This historic iconic bridge looks eerily similar to the infamous Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, CA.
Little Golden Gate Bridge - Beaver Bridge
Unfortunately, the bridge has been shut down after a routine inspection earlier this month. According to the Arkansas Department of Transportation, the bridge has some structural damage and is unsafe to travel over.
The Little Golden Gate Bridge, or Beaver Bridge, is located about 7 miles from Eureka Springs in Beaver, Arkansas, on Highway 187. 5News reports that the bridge will open once repairs are done on the historic 1949 bridge that crosses over the White River. Repair crews will begin work this week, and the repair is expected to take over a week to complete.

National Register of Historic Places
The one-lane, bright yellow suspension bridge with a wooden deck was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
ARDOT said Arkansas Highway 187 will remain open to local traffic only on either side of the bridge closure.
If you ever visit Eureka Springs, it's worth the short drive to see this one-of-a-kind bridge with a little Arkansas history to boot.
