State Police Seeks Public Help In Hope, Arkansas Hit and Run Death
The Arkansas State Police (ASP) are seeking the public's help in gathering information about a hit-and-run incident in Hempstead County that resulted in the death of a man from Texarkana, Texas.
The incident occurred on Monday, May 27, 2024, at approximately 12:35 AM. ASP officers responded to a report of an unresponsive individual at the 28-mile marker near Hope on Interstate 30 Westbound in Hempstead County. The victim, found on the shoulder of the road, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hempstead County Coroner.
Witnesses indicated that the victim, identified as 33-year-old Cameron Evans, was last seen walking away from a store in Hope.
Evans' body is being transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for further examination.
The Criminal Investigation Division of ASP urges anyone who was traveling on I-30 in the Hempstead County area near Hope overnight on Sunday, May 26, into the early hours of Monday, May 27, and may have seen anything unusual, or who has information about a suspect vehicle, to contact ASP CID Company C at (870) 777-8944.
