Texas Man Shot on I-30 Near Texarkana: Help Needed to Identify Suspect
Arkansas State Police are searching for a suspect who was shot on Monday while traveling I-30 in Miller County. Law enforcement officials are asking the general public for help finding and identifying the suspect.
Texas Man Shot on the Road
The ASP reports the shooting occurred around 12:40 PM as a motorist was traveling in the westbound lane near the 11-mile marker on Interstate 30, right around the Texas-Arkansas border. The victim was a 40-year-old Texas man driving a red 2016 Toyota Prius and remembers seeing the suspect, a black male with short hair, driving a gray Nissan Altima with Arkansas plates.
Was This Road Rage or Something Else?
The victim told Arkansas State Police that he saw the car approaching from behind closely and began flashing his headlights. When the victim changed lanes, the suspect changed lanes and continued to follow him. The victim then said he threw a water bottle out the window at the suspect's vehicle, and when he did, the suspect shot back multiple times, hitting the victim in the forearm. The man was transported to a local hospital in Texarkana, where he was treated with non-threatening injuries.
Anyone who may have seen or know anything about the incident is asked to call the Arkansas State Police Troop G at 870-777-4641.
