Body Found in Creek Near Texas Viaduct Believed to be of Missing Texarkana Man
The deceased body of a man found in Swampoodle Creek near the Texas Viaduct is believed to be that of man reported missing back in September.
Texarkana Texas Police say identification found on the body, leads them to believe it is that of Anthony Carmeli, who has not been seen since walking away from his children's soccer practice on Pine Street on Monday September 11.
At the time, police say Carmeli asked another parent there to watch his children while he took care of something, Carmeli left on foot from the 1500 block of Pine Street, in an unknown direction and was never heard from again. Police say his cell phone was turned off shortly after he left the soccer practice.
Police say the body was found this morning, by two men walking along the path of the creek around 8AM.
The body has been sent to Dallas for an autopsy to reveal the cause of death , approximate date this occurred, and a positive identification.
The investigation will continue and police will look at all aspects of the case pending the autopsy results.
