The public water system has corrected any issues and has tested the water that was affected by the boil alert. Test results show that the water no longer requires boiling as of Wednesday afternoon, October 1.
EARLIER: Monday, September 29, 2025,
Due to low water pressure and service disruptions caused by a water main break, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the City of Texarkana, Texas (Public Water System ID #0190004) to issue a Boil Water Notice for affected customers.
Who’s Affected:
All areas south of 7th Street and west of South Lake Drive in Texarkana, Texas.
What You Need to Do:
Until further notice, all water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or washing your face and hands should be boiled and cooled before use. Bring water to a rolling boil for at least two (2) minutes to kill any harmful bacteria or microbes.

This is especially important for:
Children
Elderly individuals
People with weakened immune systems
Alternatives You Can Use:
You may also use bottled water or water from another safe source instead of boiling tap water.
Next Steps:
We’ll let you know as soon as the boil water notice is lifted. A follow-up notice will be issued when the water is confirmed safe to use without boiling.
