9 Assault Cases for Bowie County in One Week

Bowie County, hanging in there with a busy February, thankfully, things calmed down a little from the week before, when we topped 100 arrests in one week for the first time in 2026.

The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office reports a total of 93 arrests in the county last week, responding to a wide range of calls, including multiple felony arrests and warrant services. Deputies handled 9 assault-related cases, including family violence, assault on a public servant, assault on a pregnant person, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, and assault by contact. There were 5 theft cases, including two thefts between $750 and $2,500 (tools, chainsaw, and scrap metal), one theft under $750, burglary-related offenses, and hindering a secured creditor.

Financial crimes totaled 5 reports, including forgery, fraudulent use or possession of identifying information, credit card abuse involving an elderly victim, and financial exploitation of an elderly individual. Deputies also investigated 2 sexual assault-related offenses, along with indecency with a child and possession of child pornography charges served by warrant.

There were 2 missing person reports, including one runaway, and a residential fire was reported midweek. Additional activity included criminal trespass (2), invasive visual recording (1), prohibited item in a correctional facility (1), abandoned vehicle impound (1), and multiple controlled substance violations.

The majority of arrests during the week stemmed from warrant services, probation violations, parole violations, DWI offenses, and jail sanctions, with more than 25 individuals booked into the Bowie County Jail.
