
CANTEX to Invest $120 Million in First Arkansas Facility at Nashville
Great news for Howard County, as a new company plans to upgrade and move into the old Husqvarna Plant in Nashville, Arkansas.
CANTEX Inc., a major U.S. manufacturer of electrical conduit, fittings, and box systems, is launching its first-ever manufacturing operation in Arkansas with a $120 million investment in Nashville. The company has acquired the former Husqvarna facility at 630 Highway 27 Bypass and is transforming it into a modern production site.
Good Paying Manufacturing Jobs
The expansion is expected to generate 110 new jobs within the first year and position the plant to begin operations in Q4 2025
CANTEX President Dave Merker said the Nashville location fits squarely with the company’s growth strategy and will help it better serve customers nationwide.
The Governor, Local, and State Officials Weigh In:
State and local leaders welcomed the move. Arkansas Economic Development Commission Executive Director Clint O’Neal called it “a transformative win” for the region, pointing to Nashville’s available real estate, strong workforce, and business-friendly environment.
Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders praised the investment as a clear sign that;
“Arkansas is open for business”.
At the local level, Mayor Larry Dunaway and Developing Howard County Director Vanessa Weeks, described the project as a turning point, restoring momentum in a community impacted by Husqvarna’s plant closure and now poised for renewed industrial growth.
