Charming Arkansas Town Gears up for Airstreams on the Square

It's that of year again for the award-winning  Airstreams on the Square and Grill Wars: Chili Cook-Off in El Dorado, Arkansas on April 25-28.

This fun event is geared toward living the RV lifestyle and culture while sampling hearty chili recipes in the historic downtown area. Each year, Main Street El Dorado and the Arkansas Razorback Airstream Club team up to host AOTS in El Dorado the only event of its kind in Arkansas.

This multi-day event will include a mix of activities for all ages, live music, games, karaoke, historic tours, a canned food drive, and so much more. This huge event is presented by Main Street El Dorado.

The theme for Airstreams on the Square 2024 is M*A*S*H, based on the classic TV series that aired from 1972 - 1983. The theme's tagline, AOTS7th: Best Care Anywhere, denotes the seventh anniversary of AOTS.

Airstreams will begin arriving in town on Thursday, April 25, from all over the country and there will be a bingo game at 7 PM.

The M*A*S*H Bash 8 PM

Live Music - 8 PM - Smackwater

Monroe, Louisiana, band Smackwater, performs a blend of classic rock, R&B, Louisiana Soul Swamp Pop, funk, soul, and country.

Saturday, April 27

Grill Wars: Chili Cook-Off

Sanctioned by the International Chili Society from 9 AM to 4 PM.

$2,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to winners of the chili cookoff

Visitors can sample chili from each competitor, all-you-can-eat for just $10 at 1 PM, and vote for your favorite. Winners will be announced, and awards presented at 4 PM. The competition is open to adults and children.

Starting at 3 PM, it's the Klinger Beauty Pageant and Houlihan's Hot Lips Contest which is a callback to characters from the M*A*S*H TV show.

Here's a look back from last year.

The public will have the opportunity to judge their favorite airstream decor by presenting canned goods to their favorite Airstream that will be donated to the Salvation Army of El Dorado's food pantry.
