The plant in Arkansas also makes corn chips and potato chips along with the other 4 plants in the U.S. Cheetos are not the only thing made in Arkansas the bags they come in are made in Searcy, Arkansas.
What Goes Into Making a Cheetos?
After the enriched cornmeal is heated and fried to produce a base the Cheetos are coated with a cheese seasoning that is eerie similar to those Kraft cheese packets for macaroni and cheese. 12 different ingredients are used in making the addictive orange puffs or twirls, yellow 6 is what helps the Cheetos maintain its iconic color. It may be hard to believe but Cheetos have vitamin B in them but the downside is that they also contain MSG, sugar, salt, whey, and other ingredients.
Are Cheetos Addictive?
You may wonder every time you eat Cheetos it seems almost addictive. Scientifically they are specifically designed to be addictive, it works like this, when the cheesy texture melts in your mouth it tricks the receptors and the brain into not realizing how many calories are being consumed so you eat more. This process is often used for McDonald's, Coca-Cola, and Oreo cookies, no wonder it's hard to eat just a few.
Cheetos have been around since I was a kid and will be around for generations to come. I'm happy Arkansas has played a big part in America's favorite snack.
