City of Texarkana Ark. Receives Vast Improvements in Inspection

The City of Texarkana, Ark. and the Texarkana, Ark. Fire Department are pleased to announce that after a recent inspection, the City’s Public Protection Classification has improved from a 4 to a 2.

According to a press release, the PPC rating measures a communities structural fire suppression capabilities on a scale from 1 to 10 with 1 being the best possible rating. This higher rating was achieved by steady improvements to the Texarkana, Ark. Fire Department, Texarkana Water Utilities, and our Emergency Dispatching Center. While insurance companies may consider other factors when setting rates for a community, this improved rating could result in a 6 to 8 percent decrease in premiums for property owners in Texarkana, Ark. The new rating will be effective starting January 1, 2018.

Property owners are encouraged to contact their insurance company after that time to inquire about possible lower premiums due to this improvement of the City’s PPC Rating.
