Last week's ice accumulation on tree branches caused a mess for a lot of people and now it's clean-up time. Luckily the City of Texarkana, Arkansas is going to help us clean up all that storm debris by waiving the fees for woody debris pickup and burn permits from January 21 to January 31.

How is Texarkana Arkansas Helping Residences Clean up Storm Debris?

If you live inside the city limits of Texarkana Arkansas you can schedule a debris pickup by contacting the Public Works Department. There are some things you need to know, the debris must be placed near the curb along city streets the day before the scheduled pickup.

What Type of Storm Debris is Texarkana Arkansas Picking Up in January 2025?

The city will only be picking up storm-related woody debris, like tree limbs, is allowed. Yard waste like grass clippings and leaves is not allowed. Debris also cannot be placed in state highway rights-of-way.

Can I Burn The Storm Debris on my Property? Do I Need a Burn Permit?

Burn permits for storm debris are available at no cost through the Fire Marshal’s Office. There will however be fees for land clearing or commercial activities still apply.

1. You must place debris within 3 feet of the curb or pavement. Avoid roadways or drainage ditches.

2 Do not include stumps, construction materials, trash, or hazardous items.

3. You will need to stack the debris in manageable piles under 10 feet long, with larger ends aligned.

The city won’t collect debris from private property, repair lawns in the right-of-way, or remove piles containing prohibited materials. You must ensure culverts and ditches stay clear. Any leftover debris is the homeowner’s responsibility.

This service is available to single-family homes and duplexes for one-time removal in The Texarkana Arkansas City Limits. Commercial properties, contractors, and apartment complexes are not eligible.
