Confirmed – Arkansas Is Going To Get Its First Buc-ee’s
The sleuthing story first written by Sheli Poole and published on MySaline.com told the story of how it appeared that Buc-ee's would be making its first location in Arkansas near Little Rock, turns out that information was correct, the world-famous gigantic Beaver-infested travel center is indeed coming to central Arkansas.
The story was first reported back in July of 2023 when information began to circulate about a large travel center-type company purchasing land in Benton, Arkansas along the I-30 corridor. At the time the name Buc-ee's was not being uttered by anyone.
Arkansas Location Approved!
Word has it from THV11.com that the Benton Planning Commission has officially approved the site and utilities plan for the first Buc-ee's location in the great State of Arkansas.
The location is right where it was suspected to be back in July when the first rumors began, I-30 at exit 114 in Benton. Yes, right where all that construction is. Hopefully, that roadwork will be done by the time Buc-ee's opens, which will take at least a couple of years.
What's the Big Deal?
Simply put, a Buc-ee's Travel Center means good-paying jobs and commerce. The travel center would employ about 250 people making about $18 per hour or more plus benefits and vacation. The center expects to take care of about 5 million visitors per year which brings in a significant tax revenue for the area.
If you have been reading my articles for any length of time, you already know I am a big Buc-ee's fan, and it's nice to know that no matter which way I'm headed on I-30, or Hwy 59 down to Houston, a Beaver is waiting for me somewhere down the road.
Recent Buc-ee's Observation:
The last 3 times I stopped at a Buc-ee's while riding the Texas roads, they were so busy, that it almost wasn't worth it. Almost. The 3 locations were I-45 in Madisonville, I-10 in Katy, and I-30 in Royse City. I guess that means they need to build more.
Bring on the Beaver!
