Have you heard the 2021 KCS Holiday Express has been canceled again this year due to COVID-19, talk about the Grinch who stole Christmas?

This would have marked the 21st anniversary of the popular holiday train in partnership with the Salvation Army that has delighted kids of all ages with its stop in numerous towns and communities that it serves with much-needed funds to help those less fortunate.

The KCS Holiday Express with its smiling tank car "Rudy" leading the way has been delighting kids of all ages for free for the past several years. Most notably, Ashdown, Arkansas was the last town the train stopped a couple of years ago.

The fully decorated lighted train rolled into the train station with the sound of Christmas music playing to help get you into a festive spirit while children waited to visit with Santa and the elves and receive a free goodie bag.

Just because the Holiday Express is not coming this year doesn't mean you can't make a donation to the Salvation Army to help support this program. Donate Here. Even without stops, this year 21 communities will still receive funds including Ashdown, according to KCS President and CEO Patrick Ottensmeyer.
