Decades of Dress Costume Contest at Grand Opening of New Club in Texarkana

Get ready to have fun and go back in time Saturday, October 30 for a special night at a new and very unique club in downtown Texarkana with the Texarkana Museums System.

It's the Decades of Dress costume party at the Grand Opening of the 1923 Banana Club as the TMS celebrates its 50th Anniversary.

Pick Your Decade and Then Dress The Part

The fun all starts at 6 PM Saturday, October 30. Pick a decade between 1870 to the 1970s then all you have to do is dress the part. Prizes will be awarded for the best costume in each decade category. Contest judging will begin at 8 PM.

Want a Peek at the New Club? We Got it!

1923 Banana Club is a beautiful speakeasy-inspired club and we got a sneak peek of it!  Like a real speakeasy back in the day, at this party, guests will be given a password to enter.

Ticket Information

Party refreshments will be catered by Benchmark.  Tickets are $50 per person and must be purchased in advance at texarkanaMuseums.org/Events. The tickets also include a one-year membership to the Texarkana Museum System.

TMS Board President, Velvet Cool stated in a press release;

“The Texarkana Museums System is celebrating our 50th anniversary this year so it’s a great time to become a member. Anyone who buys a ticket to the costume party will also receive an individual membership good for one year."

What it Means to Have a TMS Membership

As a member of the TMS you will receive discounts to their events plus free admission to all four TMS museums.  The membership helps with the cost of upkeep of the unique museums we have in Texarkana: Ace of Clubs House, Discovery Place, the Museum of Regional History, and the P. J. Ahern Home Museum.
