It is so wonderful and exciting to see all the great renovations going on in downtown Texarkana. There is another grand building that really needs help and all we need to do is vote online to win a facelift for our Amtrak Area in the Union Station building downtown.
Texarkana is working hard to keep up the beautification of our downtown. The Texarkana Arts & Historic District asking for your input in public art proposals. These will complete a series of outdoor found-object sculptures to be featured in downtown Texarkana called Bending the Rules III: George Tobolowsky & Friends Public Art Exhibit.
Even with Christmas on the way COVID-19 strikes again with another Texarkana tradition cancelled. The Texarkana Board of Directors have made the tough decision to cancel the Annual MainStreet Christmas Parade in downtown Texarkana.
With the temperatures starting to drop a little it's great to hear that ghost walks are coming back to Downtown. Texarkana has a rich history with interesting stories about crime, murder, gambling and yes even prostitution.
The Rail Yard Entertainment Celebration Party gets underway this Thursday Oct. 17, 2019, in historic downtown Texarkana from 6-9PM. Taste of Downtown will also be a part of the celebration on Thursday evening.
Monday, May 27, 2019, is Memorial Day across the nation, not a day of celebration but a day of remembrance, reverence and thankfulness to the men and women who gave it all in the service of this country.
This Saturday, October 27, you might get a little spooked with an after dark walking tour in downtown Texarkana with the “Gracefully Southern: Mourning Customs of the Victorian and Edwardian South.”
