Thomas Kinkade the "Painter of Light" passed away unexpectedly last Friday at the age of 54.

It's estimated that his paintings are in 1 out of 20 households in America, yet critics accused his work of  being "mall art". Oh well, I guess we like mall art! We like it a lot! There has been a huge surge in sales of his art work over the past few days.

Kinkade’s paintings and products were said to bring an estimated $100 million a year in sales.
