I didn't realize this, but in Arkansas local communities can decide whether to allow alcohol sales on Sunday or not.

Arkansas Legislative Act 294, passed in 2009, allows local communities to vote on whether they want to allow Sunday alcohol sales or not. A community would have to mount a petition drive to get the measure on the ballot. To do that, they would need to collect signatures at least equaling 15% of the number of people who voted in the last governors election in that community.

Take the poll and tell us if you support allowing alcohol sales in Texarkana, Arkansas (or Miller County) on Sundays?

Me? I think it's time to repeal these outdated blue laws. People drink. Get over it. There are NO logical reasons NOT to allow stores to sell alcohol on Sundays. Do you honestly believe allowing alcohol to be sold on Sundays will somehow cause crime to skyrocket and drunk driving accidents to go through the roof? Here's a newsflash: the people who want to buy alcohol on Sunday are already buying it.. in Domino and down at the Louisiana state line. Someone get the petition drive going and let's get this on the November ballot.
