UAHT Chancellor Named to National Community College Commission

Congratulations are in order for University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana Chancellor Dr. Ricky Tompkins, who has been appointed to the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Commission on Institutional and Financial Resilience.

His three-year term begins July 1, 2026, and runs through June 30, 2029.

The appointment is considered a national honor for community college leaders whose experience and leadership help guide important issues affecting colleges across the country.

The Commission on Institutional and Financial Resilience advises the AACC Board of Directors on ways community colleges can better respond to challenges such as declining enrollment, financial uncertainty, and operational disruptions.

UAHT said Tompkins' appointment reflects both his leadership and the college's commitment to student success, institutional strength, and serving its communities.

"We are sure that Dr. Tompkins's insights and leadership will significantly contribute to the Board's decision-making process and its ability to serve the interests of all AACC member institutions across the nation," said AACC Chief of Staff Tammy Reichelt.

Tompkins said he is honored to represent UAHT and community colleges across the country on the commission.
