Holiday Alert: Arkansas Law Enforcement Launches Major Impaired Driving Crackdown
As we all head out to Christmas parties, family gatherings, and New Year’s celebrations, Arkansas law enforcement will be looking for you as they make sure our roads are safe starting Friday, December 12, 2025, through Thursday, January 1, 2026.
During this time, you will see a greater presence of Arkansas law enforcement patrolling all across the state as they come together for the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.

Why These Amped Up Patrols Matter in Arkansas
The winter holiday stretch is one of the most dangerous times of the year for drivers. Between 2019 and 2023, almost 5,000 people were killed in December crashes involving impaired drivers. In December 2023 alone, 1,038 lives were lost in alcohol-related crashes and almost 700 of those had drivers who were nearly double the legal limit.

Public Safety Secretary Colonel Mike Hagar reminds us in a press release that impaired driving is illegal and it puts everyone on the road in danger of an accident.
Our Troopers, local police and sheriff’s deputies will be out in full force this holiday season to identify and remove impaired drivers from our roads. We’re asking everyone to make smart choices, plan ahead, and help ensure that every celebration ends safely. Drunk driving is 100% preventable.
Plan Ahead and Get Home Safely in Arkansas
Officials are asking all Arkansans to make a plan before the celebrations begin so they can get home safely.
