Epic 4th of July Fireworks Shows On Lakes Near Texarkana

Independence Day is just around the corner and if you plan on being on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas get ready for their annual free 4th of July fireworks display at 9:30 PM.

Some of my favorite memories when I lived in Hot Springs were being out in a boat and watching the fireworks show over the water. However, you don't have to be on the lake to enjoy the celebration. Fireworks will be fired off from the middle of the lake from barges that are located on the east side of Highway 7 at the first Highway 7 bridge just across from the DoubleTree Inn. The fireworks will of course be synched up with my former country radio station US 97 (97.5). Just in case it rains the fireworks will be rescheduled for Monday, July 5. Mountain Harbor Resort July 4

Lake Ouachita is the site for an all-day Red, White, and Blue 4th of July Celebration. The party starts at 9 AM at the Park in Harbor South with the Fourth of July 4 Wheeler Parade featuring jeeps, horses, golf carts, UTV's and more. There will be all American flag-raising ceremony with kids, dogs, and some patriotic singing. The parade then makes its way to the Mountain Harbor Lodge tossing out candy to parade watchers. Finally, the day culminates with a huge fireworks display over the lake at 9:30 PM complete with patriotic music to set the mood. More information here.

Freedom Fest at Greer Ferry Lake July 2-3

This is a little further to drive but it's certainly worth the drive from Texarkana. Freedom Fest in Heber Springs is a two-day lake family fun-filled event that features a trap shoot on Friday, July 2, from 9-5 followed by a concert on Sandy Beach with former "The Voice" contestants and native Arkansans Marybeth Byrd and Cory Jackson at 7 PM. Marybeth was a four-chair turn and made it into the Top 8 in 2019.

Then on Saturday, July 3. get ready for The World Championship Cardboard Boat Races at 10 AM at Sandy Beach. The event ends with a spectacular Fireworks Extravaganza over beautiful Greers Ferry Lake at 9:30 PM. For further information visit heber-springs.com.
