The Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division has launched a local investigation into a deadly shooting early Sunday, November 9, morning in Marianna, Arkansas. Local police requested state assistance after officers responded to multiple 911 calls about gunfire at a convenience store parking lot around 12:44 AM Sunday morning.

Two Men Shot In The Parking Lot

When officers arrived at the corner of Alabama and Chestnut Streets, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds in the convenience store parking lot. One victim, identified as 20-year-old Ethan Martin of Marianna, was pronounced dead by the Lee County Coroner while being taken to a medical facility.

A second victim, a 27-year-old man from Marianna, was airlifted to Regional One Health in Memphis. Authorities said his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

ASP - Investigation Ongoing

Martin’s body will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock, where the official cause and manner of death will be determined. Investigators from the State Police’s Criminal Investigation Division are working alongside the Marianna Police Department to determine what led to the shooting.

No arrests have been made, and officials have not released any information about possible suspects. Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact the Marianna Police Department or the Arkansas State Police.
