Nominate Your Favorite Restaurant For 2022 Arkansas Food Hall of Fame
We have a lot of great restaurants in and around the Texarkana area that qualify to be nominated into the 2022 Arkansas Food Hall of Fame.
If you haven't made a nomination yet, time is starting to run out. The nomination period will close on Sunday, October 31. You can make a nomination at ArkFoodHOF.com.
Heritage and Tourism Secretary, Stacy Hurst stated in a press release;
“Our state is full of amazing and authentic places, people and events related to food. These many facets of our food industry help tell a compelling story of Arkansas. We need the help of every Arkansan to ensure we have a strong representation of the best of the best, so please nominate your favorites today.”
The annual categories are:
● Arkansas Food Hall of Fame - which recognizes that have become legendary in their area
● Proprietor of the Year- this one is about a chef, cook or restaurant owner
● Food-Themed Event - is a food-themed event or festival
● Gone But Not Forgotten - these are restaurants of the past that we still remember fondly
● People’s Choice- this includes restaurants and food trucks.
I know there are a ton of great restaurants all over Arkansas. The great thing is, our area has already made it into the Hall of Fame twice! The Hope Watermelon Festival won the Food-Themed Event in 2019. Then the following year, Cattleman's in Texarkana made it into the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame in 2020.
We can easily get in again this year with all the great restaurants we have in Texarkana Arkansas and surrounding areas. I'd Love to see Zappta's get in. Oh, what about Fat Jack's? Or how about Doc's Place in Garland and then there's The TailGaters Burger Company in Hope? Those are just a few restaurants that come to my mind. So go ahead and make your nomination! You can do right here!
Winners will be announced in a special ceremony in 2022.
