Great Places to Cool off This Memorial Holiday Weekend
The summer season unofficially gets underway this Memorial holiday weekend and the weather is heating up for some summer fun. With temperatures expected to be in the 90s Saturday and Sunday, a favorite water park just may be what you need to cool off.
Best news is, you don't have to travel far to enjoy a refreshing splash in a wave pool or take a plunge from a water slide. Let's take a look at some favorite water parks near here starting with our very own.
Located at 5501 Crossroads Parkway, this park features the Texas Skyfall Waterslide where guests can lay back 65 feet above the ground for an adrenaline rush to the bottom. Take the short drive to Hot Springs, Ark., for a family-filled day of fun at Magic Springs Theme and Water Park. has numerous attractions for any age including eight tube slides, three body slides, activity pool, a kid's zone, seven side by side racing slides, a huge wave pool where you can learn how to surf on a boogie board, play interactive water games at Splash Island and of course the lazy river at Kodiak Canyon. Hurricane Harbor is one action packed adventure with plenty of water slides some open and enclosed in darkness to experience what every thrill seeker wants. Relax in the lazy river, check out a six-story drop on the Geronimo or the 40 ft. waves on the Tsunami Surge. They say everything is bigger and better in Texas and with over 40 rides and attractions, this water park delivers family fun at its very best.
Just off I-20 in Canton, Texas, this 11 acre water park features water slides, a huge wave pool, lazy river, Kid's castle, 3D Glow in the dark mini-golf and much more. With five locations including their other location in Shreveport, LA., opening this holiday weekend with the Red, White, and Blue weekend.
