“Hemingway’s Whiskey” Almost Didn’t Happen!
Every once in a while you'll hear an artist talk about how they came this close to NOT recording a huge hit song or an amazing album. That's what happened to KENNY CHESNEY with "Hemingway's Whiskey".
He says:
"I had a whole other album done and almost turned it in. (But) I realized in my heart of hearts that that album wasn't right. I scrapped all of it except for 'The Boys Of Fall', 'Somewhere With You', and a song called 'Seven Days'.
"They're the only songs that I kept from that original session and I went to work again."
As usual, Kenny made the smart move. "Hemingway's Whiskey" is a nominee for ACM Album of the Year. I really like this version from the Walmart Soundcheck Series...
