The heat is on. It might only be May but Mother Nature is acting like it's June or July. The good news is that means it's time for snow cones. In our area there is no better way to cool down quickly is with a very cool treat. Here is a list of snow cone huts in our area.

Southern Tropics was founded in 1988. Remember the little green stand? They're located at 116 East 35 Street in Texarkana, Ark. is open from noon to 9 PM Monday - Saturday and Sundays 2 PM to 9 PM. See them on Facebook too.

Also affectionately known as 'Cheetah's' is located at 800 N. Kings Highway in Wake Village open Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 1 PM - 9 PM. On Thursday & Friday, they are open from 1 PM-8 PM. Saturday noon to 8 PM and Sunday 1 PM to 9 PM. You can call  (903) 278-8174 for more information or their Facebook page. Word has it that the kids love to get gummy bears on top of their snow cones.

They've been in business for 22 years and have over 1,000 flavor combinations, specialty drinks, rolled ice cream and nutritional smoothies too. Open 7 days a week. 2 PM to 8 PM.
