If you ever been to Old Washington Arkansas chances are you know the significant history this place has. When you visit what is now called, Historic Washington State Park, it's like taking a time machine back into the past with all the old buildings, church, courthouse, post office, school, you can just feel how people may have lived many years ago. Well, this Memorial weekend on Saturday, May 27 and on Monday, May 29, 2017 your invited to attend an event called Silent City Speaks from 5PM-6PM.

Silent City Speaks will give visitors a chance to meet some of the past residents who now lie in their final resting place in the historic Pioneer Cemetery.  According to a press release, participants will be allowed to ask questions about the cemetery’s preservation projects. Walking tours through the cemetery will feature stops at the grave sites of individuals being portrayed and promise to not be too scary. Enjoy the glimpses into real stories from Arkansas History.

Cost of the event is $9 for adults and $5 for children 6-12. Reservations must be made at the park by calling 870-983-2684 or via email HistoricWashington@arkansas.com
